Then, locate the battery hatch, and open it using the flathead, a coin, or a similar tool. Next, carefully pry the battery from its socket by lifting up on the side that is closest to the key-ring loop. Be sure to use rubber gloves to protect the contacts or the clips.

Insert the new volvo key fob battery into the socket once the old one was removed. Make sure that the positive side is facing up and that it's seated in all the clips. Then slide the cover back downwards and towards the key-ring loop section until it loosens and then slides off. Then, remove the cover to reveal the key blade hidden inside. This will be used to unlock your car from the driver's side door If the battery for your key fob is dead or has been lost.
