Toto is the company that manufactures the elegant Japanese toilets, also known as Washlets. These toilets come with a heated seat, deodorizer and bidet, among other amenities.

Before forming Toto its members, they worked as session musicians for Steely Dan[3] Seals and Crofts[4] Boz Skaggs, Sonny and Cher. [5] Guitarist Steve Lukather is the band's singer.

About Toto

The group Toto was formed in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro and David Paich (who were also highly acclaimed studio musicians working with Boz Scaggs at the time) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. Their name is derived from the Latin word which means "all inclusive," the group was determined to explore every musical style.

The third album by Toto, Turn Back, was a failure in 1981. However they made amends with their fourth album, Isolation, which contained two hits with the title track and Roseanna. The album and the tour made them a household brand all over the world.

After a hiatus of a few years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in the year 1986. It's a change from the ballads of previous albums and also includes some heavy rock. This album was their first to be certified platinum in North America.

During the recording of the band's fifth album, the band loses their manager and are put in financial difficulty. They decide to record a brand new album and change their name an alternative producer. Joseph Williams, the son of John Williams, the legendary film composer and actress Barbara Ruick from 1950s, is now replacing Fergie Frederiksen as lead vocalist. Joseph is an easier frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a much-needed boost.

In 1999, the band release Mindfields and embarks on an extensive worldwide tour. After a few months in Europe they come to Japan where the shows are sold out. After a brief break, Toto resumes recording and begins recording their first live album, Absolutely Live in 1993 which includes an original cover of Weezer's song Hash Pipe in response to the band covering their hit Africa during their recent tour. Toto's touring band is rounded out by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.

Toto is a rock group from the United States that enjoyed their greatest success in the 1980s. The band was founded by experienced session musicians, the band has sold over 40 million albums across the globe.

In 1996, the band returned for a tour and album. It was the first time in more than a decade that all the original members were on stage.

The following year, Toto toured together with Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band. This was the final time that all the original Toto members Toto were performing together. Following this, the band was again disbanded. However, Toto reunited in 2010 to perform a benefit show for the ALS Foundation. It was the first time all of the original Toto members were performing together for more than 31 years. In addition to the original members keyboardist Greg Tambu filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate filled in for Shem Von Schroeck.

Toto has remained one of the most loved rock groups for more than three decades, releasing megahits such as "Rosanna," "Hold The Line," and their 8X-platinum hit, "Africa." The band's anthemic arena-rock is heavily influenced by a variety styles that include progressive rock, world beats, jazz, and soul.
