Best bagless suction vacuums Self Emptying Robot Vacuums

This robovac delivers impressive AI-powered obstacle avoidance, powerful mopping, and an auto-emptying dock. It also comes with an HEPA filter that seals out allergens.

It's not as adept in scouring pet hair and other small dirt as our top choices, but it's great for budget shoppers. It also has the Best Bagless Self Emptying Robot Vacuum features in the app, including zones of no-go and virtual cleaning.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a solid and well-built machine that does excellent job of vacuuming dry floors. It comes with a large external dirt compartment that it automatically fills up into the docking station when full and resumes cleaning once it's recharged. It is effective at taking out small and medium debris, but it has a difficult time dealing with hair of pets.

This model, similar to the i3 EVO uses iRobot’s iAdapat navigation software to understand and remember your home. It has a feature which automatically adjusts the suction power and head height depending on what kind of floor it's working on.

In our tests, it performed admirably on both hard floors as well as carpets with low pile, picking up most of the smaller, more difficult debris we dropped on each surface, while also tackling the larger cereal crumbs we placed on the carpet. It is less adept in picking up pet hair than other models we tested. It can also become stuck on cords or toys in the event that you don't take them off them prior to sending the robot to clean.

In our tests, it was clean for around 90 minutes before the battery went out and returned to the base. This is better than the i7+ or s9+ that was able to run for just 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO has a great track record of recollecting its previous run, something we haven't seen with other robots.

The i3+ EVO's dustbin has capacity of 1.5 quarts which is less than the majority of other robots we tested. The bin has a release switch on the side, which you can use to empty the bin. You can also empty the bin with the docking station's Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal, which sucks up the contents of the internal dustbin and then empties it into the station's external dirt bag.

2. Eureka Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro is a powerful mopping system with a suction rate of 5,500pa. It can be set up within a matter of minutes. The integrated 770ml dust bin and water tank reduce the frequency of emptying, and its large capacity allows for longer mopping sessions. The 240-minute duration makes it an excellent option for homes with larger spaces. The robot's smart navigation system, which is based on PreciSense LiDAR mapping, ensures it covers the entire space and can maneuver around obstacles.

The Q5 Pro is unlike some other robot vacuums that require Wi-Fi in order to function. However, its battery is quite short, so you will need to recharge it often in case you intend to use the machine for a long time. It is fairly easy to maintain, with dirt bags which can be easily replaced and a straightforward maintenance schedule. It's also cheaper than its more expensive rivals.

The Q5 Pro can be a little finicky when it is dealing with pet hair and heavier debris, but it's a great product overall. In our tests, it cleared more debris from floors and low-pile carpet than the Dirt Devil Endura Max, however, it had a difficult time getting into tight corners and recessed areas of carpet with high pile. It's also more flexible, and its filtering system does a fantastic job of capturing allergens. However the straight suction floorhead is too low to pass over large or bulky debris. It also has other minor disadvantages like the absence of sophisticated features and a the limited remote control features. Eureka Q5 Pro, despite its limitations, is a good alternative for those looking for a basic robotic vacuum with mopping capabilities.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

The SwitchBot K10 plus is a great option to get a smart vacuum that can also mop. The small size of this robot allows it to reach areas that larger robots cannot like corners or under furniture. It also has a LiDAR sensor which can detect obstacles and prevent collisions.

In our testing the K10 Plus vacuumed up pet hair dust, crumbs and other particles quickly and efficiently from our carpeting. It was also able to reach into tight places such as under our beds or around the legs of our chairs. In addition to vacuuming, it is also able to perform mopping tasks using a separate cloth or wet wipe. There's a small set of wet wipes that comes with the K10 Plus to get you started.

The app for the K10 Plus is intuitive and straightforward to use. It comes with a variety of options for customization that include setting a date that the machine won't be disturbed, changing its map layout, or setting a schedule of when it needs to clean. The app also monitors the use of different tools like the side brush, filter bin filter, side brush, and sensors. This helps you know when to replace them.

The K10 Plus's battery life is pretty decent too. We could get around three hours of cleaning of it with a full charge. It charges quite quickly. It ejects dirt into a bin in the base station after it's done. It can be very loud, but not as loud compared to other robot bagless compact vacuums that we've examined.

4. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is part of the top-end S Series of the manufacturer that is above models like the iRobot Roomba j7 or iRobot Roomba i3. It is very effective on different floor surfaces and is able to maneuver around furniture. Its main brushroll is fitted with counter rotating scrapers made of rubber that effectively remove the majority of debris, including pet hair from floors and carpets. Its suction strength in the real world is great for a bagless robotic sweepers but not as strong as top-quality alternatives like the Roborock S8.

The Roomba S9+'s design is distinctly elegant with a body that is D-shaped that is more modern than its circular competitors. This alternative shape also helps it to get into corners and along edges with ease. It can still leave dust behind in these areas if you do not spin the corner brush quickly enough. However its powerful motor makes up for it.

In the tests conducted by iRobot, the S9+ was able to pick up pet hair and kitty litter easily. It also performed exceptionally well on hard floors, where it made use of its powerful motor to power through the majority of debris, and clean all corners and edges with ease. Its advanced vSLAM technology and Imprint Smart Mapping made it one of our best navigators. It can find its way through sofas or beds with valances draped over them.

The iRobot App makes it easy to set up and operate. You can choose which functions you want to start during the initial set up process, or wait until you've got an understanding of the way it functions. Its internal bin does need to be manually emptied occasionally when it gets full however, the process takes less than 15 seconds and it's relatively quiet.

5. Roborock S8

The latest version of the Roborock S series is an impressive mop and robot vacuum with a robust feature set. It utilizes the LIDAR and camera system to navigate and avoid obstacles similar to its predecessors. The application's mapping system creates a 3D interactive map of your house that allows you to mark certain rooms for spot cleaning or set up no-go zones. The app lets you control the robot's schedule, and select different mopping and vacuuming modes for each room.

The S8 features improved HyperForce suction, which is able to remove fine hair and particles with ease. The app allows you to adjust suction power, and the device can automatically switch between the energy-efficient 'Quiet', Balanced', and 'Turbo' mode depending on the surface it's cleaning. It also comes with a 'Carpet Suction Boost' mode which enhances suction when the robot is positioned on rugs.

You can control the S8 by pressing one button that doubles as a general 'Clean button, or a "Spot Clean button to direct the robot to that location. Press the 'Dock/Home button' to direct the robot to its home station. The app is surprisingly extensive features and is simple to use. You can also choose when you want to charge your phone off-peak to save money on peak-time power.

The only issue with the S8 is that its battery doesn't last as long as it should with a battery that can last only 130 minutes of usage when I left it at its default settings with both vacuuming and mopping enabled. That's a remarkable amount of time, and it was enough to thoroughly clean my apartment.
